About me

When I first began practicing yoga 15 years ago, I had no idea that it would have such a tremendous impact on my life. It has helped me to improve my posture and general fitness, manage my stress, while also providing me with a sense of calm and peace that I had never experienced before.

Coming from the healthcare industry, I’ve always been passionate about helping people: be it working with patients, or training junior staff. Thus, becoming a certified yoga teacher felt like a natural progression. The education I received at The Yoga University in Villeret helped me grow both personally and professionally, and is the foundation for my personal approach to teaching. It allows me to help others find the same level of peace and joy that I have been able to find through yoga.

Since then, I have been fortunate enough to teach many students and witness their growth and transformation firsthand. Being able to help them progress in their practice is what drives and motivates me as a teacher.

So, if you're looking for an experienced yoga teacher who is knowledgeable, dedicated, and passionate about helping you achieve your goals, look no further. I would be honored to be a part of your yoga journey and share with you all the incredible benefits that this practice has to offer.

What is dEwa Yoga about?

DEwa, is a play on words combining my first name with the Buddhist term ‘Deva’, a type of celestial being associated with strength, longevity, and happiness. Those qualities reflect my yoga practice and the way I teach.

For me, yoga is more than just physical exercise. It's an opportunity to connect with something greater than yourself and tap into your spirituality. By focusing on your breath and body, you can quiet your mind and connect with your inner self, leading to self-discovery and growth. Yoga challenges you both physically and mentally, helping you overcome obstacles and push past limitations. And with present-moment awareness, you can fully experience your practice and connect with your body and breath. If you're looking for a more fulfilling life, a deeper understanding of yourself, or simply wish to increase your well-being, join one of my yoga classes.

My philosophy reflects the type of yoga classes I give: Meditation, Pranayama (breathwork), and Asanas (yoga poses) form the basis of my practice. Imagine feeling centered, calm, and connected with your breath as you move mindfully through each pose. With my guidance, you’ll improve your alignment, flow through poses with intention, and deepen your mind-body connection.

What can you expect from a class?

My yoga classes artfully combine elements of Hatha and Kundalini yoga. Typically, I will guide you through calming breathing exercises, followed by Hatha yoga to enhance your strength, flexibility, and balance through longer holds. After that, we transition to Kundalini yoga, incorporating breathwork and meditation, to awaken your vital energy and creativity. The class ends with a few minutes of relaxation and meditation. Ultimately, you will feel revitalized, relaxed, and centered.
